  1. I found something that may help you a bit on the MFSW Swap Mecey:

    www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115993

If you tell me what is the exact issue on the swap i may be able to find something more complete.

    Cheers

I have read complete how to articles on A4/MKV and a few other. The only C5 ones I have found are on here (tracker/wizard1000) and one from a polish site. The polish guy used a can gateway and a "k" controller. Tracker used a "f" controller and no can gateway. I have purchased a "f" module, RS4 wheel and airbag and already have the "m" clock spring. All I really need now is a pin out or schematic of the CAN wiring. I'd even take some pictures if I could find them.

    Thanks for the help.

  2. Just amazing. You got to have some knowledge to do all that little mods by yourself. The car looks awesome. I don't like these kind of lights, but I think some Angel Eye headlamps would fit nicely to it. I can't imagine the mess that's needed to get the faceplate of the radio into the glovebox. Really nice car. Have you had any issues regarding to the drivetrain/engine components? Also, The airlift struts makem the car able to be lifted/lowered or does it just stay at the position it is on the pics?

Sweet work, It's pretty rare to see an Audi over the US at these times, I'm kind of tired of hearing about HEMI's and dodges :p

    Cheers

The engine/drivetrain have been perfect. Just turne 100k miles and only regular maintenance.

The airlift struts allow me to lower it to about 1/2 inch on the ground to as high as an allroad.

    Thanks for the kind words.

  3. I have purchased a Multi Function Steering Wheel from a 2008 Audi RS4. I am looking to retrofit it into my 2002 Audi S6.

    I have found these articles:

    https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7h9S5pGo5D2d05adzZ4YU05a28

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/138299-B7-Multi-Function-Steering-Wheel-into-2002-Audi-24

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=457472

I have not got any definitive answers what parts the C5 platform will need.

I have gathered that I will need:

    1k0 907 530 K – Can GateWay

    8P0 953 549 K/F or 1k0 953 549 F/AL/Af-MFSW controller

    (Or...4b0 907 787f/h MFSW controller)

    4B0 973 705 + 4B0 973 605-Flat five pin connectors

    1J0959654AG-Ring

I have looked on the USA forums and havent found anyone with any knowledge. I have seen a lot of intelligence on this forum and hope that someone can lend a tip or two. Maybe an exact list of parts? Or schematics?

    Thanks in advance

    Colin

i apologize as well google translate is making it tough to go through the correct posts.

    Back to your presentation!

  5. Hi Mecey.

Very nice car. For sure you have a problem, as a lot of members of this forum, always triyng to improve their car.

Concerning your MFSW I think you should try to send an mp to forum's member "wizard1000", he has helped other members when adapting a modern steering wheel to ours A6 4B.

Ill do that. Thank you very much.

  6. Hey there,

Nice ride you 'wheel whore' (I liked that one). You've done a realy nice job customizing your car. Congratulations, and welcome to our forum :clap1:.

Tell mi something about the law in US: is it right they allow you to do pretty much everything you like to your car? Here in Spain we have some absurd restrictions, so absurd that it makes my feel like a slave (I have to live and respect some rules that I don't like and can't do enything to change it :cry2:).

Audi is not the most popular auto brand in US, isn't it? Well you must be feeling pretty special than :busted_cop:.

Hope to hearing more from you mate! Take care!

Pretty much have full reign when customizing. There are height restrictions, lowering and lifting. But not really enforced where I live.

  7. As we say here in Spain: IM-PRE-SI-O-NAN-TE (impressive)

One question...how much cost the new suspension?:

-Airlift retrofitted front and rear air struts.

    -Accuair E-Level air management

The struts were about 1500usd and the management/install parts were about 2500usd. Being I did the stainless hardlines the total was a bit more than it could have been. You can do a more basic setup, not self leveling, for a bit cheaper. I wanted to keep the performance of a S model car so I went with the best I could.

  8. Wellcome Colin to our little family. I hope you find the answer to your needs here. Tracker is a good proffesional.

Oregon? In 2013 i´ll go to live and work in EEUU. I haven´t decided where to live. The problem is that i will leave my car here in spain... :(

EEUU? What's that? It sucks to leave the car behind...

    Oh! I´m sorry...

EEUU is the same that USA. In spanish we say Estados Unidos.

Oh. I understand now. Coming for work?

  9. joe IKER que poca sangre, no comentas lo que hicimos el otro dia con el coche ni subes ni una sola foto.

Hello. I am from the USA and am going to attempt to put a RS4 steering wheel in my 2002 S6 avant. I saw the posts that you have done on audizine and others. I'm pretty sure I have all the part numbers gathered up but still wanted to be sure. Any chance I can bother you so send me a pm and give me the exact numbers you used so I can cross reference? My vehicle already is can bus so not sure if I need all the parts that I have came across on your posts. I own a mobile audio shop and my tech's assure me that they can figure it out but I want to make sure I have the right parts when we start. I am using a symphony 2 radio and an iPad mini fabricated in front of it as my radio source.

You don't have a D.I.Y on the steering wheel swap anywhere do you?

Thanks once again. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi mecey.

You should introduce yourself first. Is a bit unpolite in this forum to ask for something without a presentation. This is a great groups, but we are very nosy, and we would like to see a lot of pictures of your car and a small explanation of the your car's story.

But, as you have done, do not hesitate asking for information, in this forum we are very kind to submit as much information as we have.

It a bit difficult to give you the exact part numbers, because having this knowledge, implies a hard labour looking into Elsa and Etka, but nothing is imposible. If you tell us witch parts do you have, I'll try to cross reference them inside Elsa & Etka.

First, you should have the electric schemas and have identified the main component involved in this tasks, and how the are connected. Once the main schema is drawn, the next step is to identify the exact part numbers involved.

Right now, there is no need to use mp, because there is no confidential o sensible information involved.

...also I have made a presentation topic

  10. I was told it was polite to tell about my car and myself as a new forum member...so here it goes.

My name is Colin and I live in Central Oregon, USA. My car is a 2002 S6 avant. I have done some modifications here and there but nothing real crazy.

    Exterior

-I have fitted a RS6 front bumper and used Vision LED as replacement fog lights.

-All turn signals have been replaced with LED.

-I purchased a set of INPRO LED taillights from germany. Very happy with the look and performance.

    Interior

-I have painted all the wood grain inside to match the body color.

-All the interior lights have been switched out to white LED as well.

    Audio

-I am in the process of fitting a iPad mini into the dash as a replacement source unit while keeping the symphony 2 radio intact. The faceplate is being relocated to the glovebox and the mini is mounted to the factory radio chassis. behind the mini the 6 disc unit will still operate along with the radio. I am integrating the audio with a DICE ipod adapter.

-Also in the process of fitting a 08 RS4 MFSW, The goal is to have radio controls, volume, track, source and have the display on the cluster while the mini in place of the radio is all you see.

-I own a high end mobile audio shop and once this is up and running I will be doing Audison Voce front seperates, Hertz HDP5 amplifier, and a Audison Voce 10' subwoofer.

All this will be pushed through a Audison Bit One.

    Suspension/drivetrain

-Airlift retrofitted front and rear air struts.

    -Accuair E-Level air management

    -upgraded to slotted brake discs

    Wheels

-I am what you would call a wheel "whore". I have had avus wheels, BBS...twice, Rotiform Blq and NUE, OEM a4 sport, A8 monoblocks, Zone three piece 19x10 front/rear, and now VMR for winter wheels... probably forgetting a few. All this and only have owned the car for a year and a half. I think I have a problem.

    Thats all for now...

    Thanks

On a side note if anyone has done a MFSW swap and could lend some pointers that would be much appreciated. I believe I have the list of need can components but just stumbled upon another mfsw controller that may be the one I need...

    to the pics...

First off I'd like to apologise. I'm used to the forums based in the USA like VWvortex, Audizine, etc. The majority of the forum users are unhelpful and unknowledgeable. It's a breath of fresh air hearing that this forum is tight knit and interested in others and not just themselfs. Problem is I have to use google translate to understand any of it.. My Spanish is very rusty.

My name is Colin, I live in central Oregon in the USA. I drive a 2002 S6 avant. I posted some pictures in the s/rs forum... Ill try to put together a little thread telling about it soon.

Ill put the part numbers I have found to make this swap possible and if I should start a new thread please advise. I don't want to jack this thread.

    1k0 907 530 K – Can GateWay

    8P0 953 549 K/F or 1k0 953 549 F/AL/Af-MFSW controller

    4B0 973 705 + 4B0 973 605-Flat five pin connectors

    1J0959654AG-Ring

The wheel is out of a 2008 RS4. I have a knowledgeable friend with a vagcom.

Th question is what versions of the parts, how do I cross reference. The MFSW controller is the biggest mystery to me...

Thanks again and I look foreword to putting together a presentation on my S6 when I have a chance.

    Colin
